Real Talk on George Papadopoulos, Lloyd Blankfein, Kevin O'Leary and Insider Trading

Oct 31 2017 | 12:25pm ET

Today, we discuss a case of mistaken identity, why Lloyd Blankfein is trolling the British government, and the latest insider trading scheme to hit Manhattan.

Quotes of the Day

“For the nth time, I am NOT Trump's foreign policy adviser! I have NO association with the Trump camp! NONE!”

That is George Papadopoulos‏. His Twitter handle is @feeonlyplanner.

George Papadopoulos is a CFP, CPA, and Wall Street Journal Expert Panelist.

He really wants everyone to know this morning that he is not the former Trump foreign policy adviser who shares the same name and was just arrested for lying to the FBI.

Thanks to the magic of Twitter, hundreds of people are firing off messages at him in a classic case of mistaken identity.

He continues to reply that there is more than one George Papadopoulos.

Twitter’s continuous response to him?

Your name’s Lebowski, Lebowski. And your wife is Bunny.

"In London. GS still investing in our big new Euro headquarters here. Expecting/hoping to fill it up, but so much outside our control. #Brexit."

Lloyd Blankfein has been trolling British leaders over the Brexit.

Yesterday, he posted a picture on Twitter of his firm's new London headquarters and musted on whether the building will ever house its 6,000 London-based bankers.

Though construction is set for completion in 2019, the bank might be bolstering its Frankfurt-based operations that currently house 200 employees.

Blankfein isn't subtle in his approach.

But this message was a follow-up to an even better hint to U.K. officials.

The message below came Oct. 19 and received 5,700 likes on the Twitter.

"[I] just left Frankfurt. Great meetings, great weather, really enjoyed it. Good, because I’ll be spending a lot more time there. #Brexit," he wrote.

DamnThat's some good-ass cheese, Lloyd.

"If I could change one thing it'd be to have both my parents here seeing how far I've come from the punk who got fired from an ice cream shop."

That's Kevin O'Leary in an interview with CNBC on what motivates him and how far he's come since he was shown the door at his first job.

It's a fairly good interview. The highlight comes at the end when his mother gave him advice that he said he'd never forget.

"There's two types of people in the world," she said, "those that own the store and those that scrape the s--- off the floor, and you have to decide which one you are.'"

“Mr. Chow misused his position of trust to undermine the integrity of the market."

Finally, that's FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge Danny Kennedy

Benjamin Chow has been indicted on multiple charges of securities fraud. Kim allegedly ran a $5 million insider trading scheme tied to shares of Lattice Semiconductor Corporation.

The timing of the story is interesting given that President Trump recently blockeda deal that would have allowed Canyon Bridge Capital Partners, a Chinese-backed investment firm founded by Chow, to purchase Lattice for $1.3 billion.

Chow allegedly gave tips to friends on all of his company's deals, including Lattice.

Sounds like one of his friends went heavy on the Lattice, but it didn't work out.
